Spenser

Spenser is a 22 year old, senior majoring in International Studies and Political Science with minors in Law & Legal Studies, Women & Gender Studies, and Geography. Spenser hails from Jefferson County, West Virginia. She first became involved with SGA after transferring to WVU her sophomore year and being elected to serve on the Student Board of Governors in 2013-2014. At the end of her term, Spenser was awarded Governor of the Year for 2013-2014. Spenser currently is the Chief Financial Officer for SGA where she oversees budgetary and purchasing matters for the organization. In SGA some of the projects she has worked on are the creation of the Director of Veterans Affairs position and the Veterans Resource Center, working with the WVU Vice President for Finance and Administration on the allocation and reduction of student fees, co-chairing the annual United Way Gold Rush Campaign, updating and revising the SGA ethics and elections codes, the writing and appropriation of an approximately $170,000 budget, and co-chairing the SGA Bureau of Finance to just name a few. Additionally, Spenser is a Building Supervisor for Night Operations at the Mountainlair, a veteran member and head delegate for the WVU Model United Nations Team, a member of WVU's Young Democrats, and a former study abroad participant in China, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Netherlands, Korea, and France. Spenser is also currently serving on the WVU Student Conduct Board and the Library Student Advisory Council. 

In Spenser's free time (what little there is) she likes to travel, read Bill Bryson's books, and eat spicy food. Sometimes she even takes long walks on the beach. Oh, and she was Miss West Virginia in 2011, too.
